One of the least-heralded but most effective promotional products that we offer in Perth is the custom hat. Hats are underrated as a promotional tool for the very reason they are so effective: they are everywhere. People tend to take hats for granted because so many people wear them. That is exactly why they should pay more attention to their possibilities as promotional tools.
When someone is wearing a hat with a logo on the front, the logo is mere centimetres away from eye level. Think about that for a few seconds: the closest that your message will get to anyone’s eyes is if it is on a hat. Are you excited about the possibilities? You should be.
Elliot’s Army: How They Use Hats to Encourage Children’s Cancer Research
Elliot Parish was a courageous boy who was diagnosed with brain and spinal cancer at age three, in 2009. On 10 February 2011, Elliot tragically lost his battle with cancer, but the war was just beginning.
Elliot’s father, Rick Parish, along with friend Peter Wilson, had put together a group called The Adventurers in 2009 to help raise money for children’s cancer research. They raised money by climbing mountains and raised $920,000 their first year. After Elliot’s death in 2011, the Adventurers gained a partner: the Channel 7 Telethon Trust. They would become the Telethon Adventurers.
Since then, the Telethon Adventurers have raised over $9 million for children’s cancer research. They now have six different fund-raising adventures every year. In February 2013, they were able to fund a ground-breaking conference called the First Global Symposium on Childhood Brain Tumors. 50 of the world’s foremost oncologists, researchers and neurosurgeons were in attendance.
The symposium was very successful, even producing an international agreement and initiative to collaborate on an international basis in the fight against childhood cancer.
Currently, Elliot’s Army is stronger than ever. They came to us wanting a unique gift to sell to participants in the Telethon Adventurers. We suggested hats because they are perfect for the Telethon Adventurers. Elliot’s Army has a distinctive coat of arms as their logo. We felt that it would look great on a hat.
The hat is perfect for Elliot’s Army and many charities because it is not only at eye level, but big enough to hold the entire logo. The logo looks perfect on top of the hat. People wearing the hats are proud to be part of Elliot’s Army.
When people wear the hat, they are often asked about what it means, giving them a chance to share Elliot’s story and talk about the mission of Elliot’s Army. The hat is unique, attractive and helps raise awareness for their cause. It’s also great at keeping the sun out of your eyes and helping you keep a cool head on your shoulders.

The Proof is in the Results
The Elliot’s Army logo has helped them raise more than $9 million for children’s cancer. They have used both shirts and hats to publicise the logo and raise awareness for their cause. We have worked with a lot of charities, providing shirts, hats and silicone wristbands. Any of these is a great way to spread awareness for a cause.
