Description
THE NAIDOC 2021 – PAINTING (HEAL COUNTRY)
By Kevin Bynder
The colours of the artwork represent the Indigenous people of Australia… Blues represent the Coastal and river people.
Greens represent the people of the rainforest, Tasmania, wheatbelt and the inland coastal areas.
The Yellow and brown areas represent the people of of the desert region and also represents the ochre in which was the first colour used with Aboriginal Art.
The Painting represents these people as they are the Traditional Owners of the land. The land, sea and ocean was protected by Aboriginal people our totems come from these areas. We looked after the land and nurtured it only using it to survive whether it be hunting for food, making housing, traditional ceremonies or burning the land for food and regrowth.
The land is now sick and in a bad way so its time to Heal Country…
